Sarah & Dan’s Historic Longstreet Farm Engagement Session

Sarah and Dan chose Historic Longstreet Farm in Holmdel, New Jersey for their engagement session. With its historic buildings, open fields, rustic textures, and natural surroundings, the farm gave us plenty of variety while keeping the session relaxed and easygoing.

We spent our time exploring the property and letting the different areas of the farm shape the photographs. The historic buildings and fences added character, while the open landscape and greenery gave us softer, more natural backgrounds. I gave Sarah and Dan direction when they needed it, but also gave them plenty of room to simply walk, talk, laugh, and enjoy being together.

One of the things I love about engagement sessions at Historic Longstreet Farm is how much variety you can create without having to travel between locations. A short walk can completely change the setting, which allows the session to flow naturally and gives couples a collection of photographs that feels varied without feeling disconnected.

The summer landscape was especially beautiful for Sarah and Dan’s session. Photographing later in the day gave us softer light that worked perfectly with the greenery, fields, and warm textures of the farm.

Engagement sessions are also a great opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day. You do not need to know how to pose or what to do with your hands. I will give you direction when you need it and step back when you do not, allowing the photographs to feel natural while still making sure you look your best.

Sarah and Dan’s Historic Longstreet Farm engagement session was exactly that. Relaxed, natural, and filled with moments that felt like the two of them.
