I believe the real photographs, the ones you will still have on your wall in twenty years, happen in the spaces between the schedule. Not when everyone is standing in a line, but when they have forgotten to be anything other than themselves.

I work quietly and I move slowly. I will give you gentle direction for your portraits, enough to make you feel at ease and nothing more. And then I step back and let your day be what it is.

Every detail you spent months choosing, I see it. The ribbon, the flowers, the way the light falls on the table you agonized over. None of it disappears.
